Don't Get Left Out in the Cold: Winter Coat Trends

The winter coat is an essential fashion item, reinventing itself each year with new looks, hot colors, funkier styles, patterns and more. While some might argue "function over fashion", we do believe that one must at least have the opportunity to glow in the warmth of a great style choice as they brave the winter doldrums. Our favorite coats this year, however, are hot in every sense of the word.



1. The Bold Color Coat:
An annual favorite, the bold color coat is classic, putting a fresh and funky spin on traditional winter wear. Coming in a variety of styles, from trench coat to pea coat, bubble jacket and others, the bold color coat can wake up even the most dreary winter day. This year, pretty pinks, youthful yellows, awesome oranges, and blues of all hues make the bold color coat a standout.


2. The Modern Military Jacket:

For the fashionably brave, the military coat is a fun and edgy look. This season's military jackets command attention with well-detailed  and often ornate buttons, straps, trims belts, and stitching. These accents pair surprisingly well with most feminine looks, creating just enough funky-fashionable balance for most fashionistas. 
As an added bonus, many designers have successfully experimented with color for even more daring looks for the season.

3. The Printed Piece:

The printed coat makes a major imprint this year, a different take on the traditional winter coat. Like the bold color coat, the printed coat comes in many styles, but stands out with unique printing and out-there detailing. Prints range from classic houndstooth or checkered, to fierce animal-inspired prints, or even imaginative and innovative swirls of color and shape. These coats are delightful on a winter day, going well with almost any look, from the playful to the professional.
